Loren’s effigy

9" wide,8" tall
This piece was made of hand dug clay from the Red River. Burnished with a rock to a shine, then pitfired the old way in an open ground fire. It was then engraved after firing.
It is an example of a Caddo effigy pot in transition from the early sculptures of animals to the newer abstractions into more symbology.
